LAMBNet Labs Inc. (“LAMBNet”, “we”, “us”) is an IT services and software company based in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. This policy describes how we handle personal information across the lambnet.ca website, our client portal, and the LAMBNet mobile apps for iOS and Android (together, the “Services”). We handle personal information in accordance with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).
The short version
- We collect only what we need to deliver IT services to you.
- We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. Ever.
- No advertising, no third-party analytics, and no tracking SDKs — on the website or in the apps.
- The only cookies we set are the ones that keep you signed in.
- Email us at [email protected] and we will answer questions, correct records, or delete your data.
What we collect
Account information. When an account is created for you on our client portal, we collect your name and email address, and store your password in hashed form. We never store passwords in plain text.
Content you give us. Support tickets, messages, service requests, and files you upload or attach. This may include whatever you choose to put in them, so please do not include passwords or payment card numbers in ticket text.
Status notifications. If you subscribe to service status updates, we collect your email address. Subscriptions are double opt-in — we only add you after you confirm — and every email includes an unsubscribe link.
Communications. Emails and phone calls you exchange with us, so we can follow through on what was discussed.
Technical data. Standard server logs: IP address, browser or device type, and the pages or endpoints requested. In the mobile apps, this can also include basic device information and crash diagnostics so we can fix problems.
How we use it
- Providing and supporting the services you have engaged us for.
- Signing you in and keeping your account secure.
- Responding to tickets, requests, and questions.
- Sending transactional email — account verification, password resets, and the status notifications you asked for. We do not send marketing email.
- Diagnosing problems, preventing abuse, and meeting legal obligations.
Cookies
We use essential cookies only: a session cookie that keeps you signed in to the portal. There are no advertising cookies, no cross-site tracking, and no third-party analytics scripts.
Mobile apps
The LAMBNet apps for iOS and Android connect to the same services as the website and handle the same account and service data described above. In addition:
- If you enable push notifications, we store a device token so we can deliver them. You can turn this off in your device settings at any time.
- If a feature asks for a device permission (for example, access to your camera or photos to attach a file to a ticket), it is used only for that feature and only when you use it.
- The apps contain no advertising and no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs. Crash diagnostics are used solely to fix defects.
Who else touches your data
We host our own infrastructure in Canada. A small number of service providers help us run the Services:
- Cloudflare — network security, content delivery, and file storage. Traffic to our Services passes through Cloudflare’s network, and uploaded files are stored in Cloudflare R2.
- Mailgun — delivery of transactional email such as verification messages, password resets, and status notifications.
These providers may process data outside Canada (for example, in the United States), where it may be subject to the laws of those jurisdictions. We share only what each provider needs to do its job, and we do not permit them to use your information for their own purposes. Beyond that, we disclose personal information only if required by law, or with your consent.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services, then delete or anonymize it. Some records are kept longer where the law requires (for example, financial records). Server logs are retained briefly for security and troubleshooting.
How we protect it
Data is encrypted in transit (TLS), passwords are hashed, and access to personal information is limited to the people who need it to serve you. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach ever creates a real risk of significant harm to you, we will notify you and the appropriate authorities as the law requires.
Your rights
You may ask us to show you the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. You may withdraw consent to optional things (like status notifications) at any time. To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected] — we respond to every request. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta.
Children
Our Services are built for businesses and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version here and update the effective date above. For material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify account holders directly.
